The Easter holidays and May bank holiday weekends are fast approaching and if you haven’t planned anything yet there is still time to book your stay at Giants Head! Whether you love nothing more than connecting with nature and spending a few nights in your tent or you prefer the luxury of your caravan, we will be more than happy to cater for you at our lovely caravan and camping park in Cerne Abbas during your holiday.
 
We have fantastic facilities that offer everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable stay. If you want nothing more than a few days in a peaceful surroundings in which you can escape from the stresses of life without expending too much energy, we most definitely have you covered. However, if you are keen to get out and about exploring the local area there are plenty of opportunities for activities and adventure.
 
Our campsite is located a very short distance from the charming village of Cerne Abbas, which attracts visitors from far and wide thanks to its famous Cerne Giant. This 180 ft tall chalk figure, situated on the hillside overlooking the village, is a must-see for anybody staying in or passing through the area.
 
A 10-15 minute drive down the road from us is the popular market town of Dorchester. If you are a fan of local history you will have a fantastic time visiting The Keep Military Museum, Shire Hall Museum and Hardy’s Cottage - birthplace of acclaimed author Thomas Hardy. Other memorable experiences that can be enjoyed in and around Dorchester include Sculpture by the Lakes, Dorset Falconry Park, Brewery Square and Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens.
 
Of course, if your idea of the perfect weekend break is to actively get away from others, (no judgement from us!) there is also a plethora of gorgeous countryside to enjoy in the areas surrounding our camping and caravan park , with loads of stunning routes for those who have their walking boots handy. We are so privileged to be located in an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so no matter which direction you go in, you are sure to find beautiful and tranquil spots to really enjoy the nature we have right on our doorstep.
